We had a delicious brunch time snack at the cafe du jardin. The entrance way is unassuming but don't let that fool you, this rustic restaurant serves delicious bites and thirst quenching drinks in a relaxed and informal French cafe style both outdoor and indoor tables and believe me this place gets busy. Our server, Albie was an absolute gem, he worked hard to ensure no one was waiting, very attentive and capable. As you can see from my photos the food is excellent. However I wished I had ordered one of the tasting plates as they look fantastic.

Outside seating good food friendly staff brilliant when sun shining

Wonderful treasure of a cafe tucked away in a delightful courtyard. Delicious food, super friendly staff, glorious atmosphere. What a find! Don't tell anyone or everyone will want to visit!

Came for lunch with a friend and sat in the pretty courtyard basking in a rare moment of sunshine. I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob and I can safely say it was really good. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had the croque monsieur with fries and my friend had the sweet corn fritters. Food came in good time and it all tasted really fresh and delicious. This is very much a hidden gem and I will most definitely be returning and telling friends about it! Thank you.

A charming outdoor cafe serving great food. Friendly, attentive service. Lovely atmosphere. The food was good, my only slight criticism is that the salad was slightly too heavy on the dressing, but otherwise it was great. Harvey’s beer of course - what else in Lewes.

It was perfect for me as due to the rain it was quiet! I had a lovely lunch, veg quiche, salad and fries! It is always lovely to eat there, I was on my own and did not feel awkward being on my own, unlike some other places to eat!! Food excellent and service the same! I would recommend them every time!
